salut.
Its been a pretty lazy week so far. Slept in pretty much every day. Usually im up in time for lunch though. Pretty much all i do all day is watch movies and go on the computer. I have a new found respect for some of those lame movies that my mom always watched. They are actually not too bad. ive probably watched a good 12 to 15 movies in the last week or so. Went out into downtown one day and it wasnt too exciting other than the fact that Nathan got some girls phone number...I know, it was a shock to me too. I thought she must have meant to give it to me but just realized that he could spea french. But that wasnt the case, he called her yesterday but nobody answered so he called back tday and talked to her for a bit, then she texted him her msnand theyve been talking all day. I could barely get any time on here today because he was too busy with the ladies. Nothing else really happened this week so far. Heading down south for a week at like 1 am saturday morning, ughh. Thats going to be a long night.
I am starting to question French food. Some things ae just a bit weird to me. Another Canadian person that goes to my school told me that her family had buffalo tongue for dinner. Thats just wrong. She old me that it was like purple and you could still see the tastebuds. Im hopeing we never have that. As for my family, the other day they had pigs feet, not really my thing. They are just fat and no meat. I couldnt get over the fact that they were the pigs feet though so i only had a little peice. Today i woke up for lunch and Nathan is like oh im making some meat you should try it. But i was suspicious so i said that i didnt want any. He started eating it and it looked so gross and i was glad thati didnt have any. He insisted that it was good though. Turnes out it was pigs blood - yeah, cooked pigs blood. Thats just completely disgusting. Makes me cringe just thinking about it. Nathans dad says that every part of the pig is goodand he told us at dinner today thathe has eaten raw chicken guts. Bunch of weirdo's over here i think.

Last Days Before Vacation.
hello,
not much to update everyone on.Kind of a boring couple days. watched a neat french movie wednesday night called Le Grand Bleu.It was pretty cool but it was almost 3 hours long and when it was done it was like 1:30 in the morning and i had to be up at 6:45 for school. Only had 2 classes on thursday so i got nathans mom to pick me up at 11. Went and grabbed some groceries then grabbed a sandwich from a little shop and then i went and picked up a phone card from a store. So now I can call whenever I want to. Got home and jus layed around for a few hours. Watched like 2 movies and played some Tiger Woods. Just hung out until later at night then i called a few friends. Ended up going to bed pretty late.
Didnt have to wake up until after 12 yesterday because i didnt have school until 1:45, went to school and only had 1 class so i just waited for Nathan to be done and then we went home. Me and Mike planned at school to just go out for dinner or something so i asked Nathans mom if i could go to dinner with a Canadian friend. Her answer was yes as long as Nathan goes with you...so im like uhh okay then. I didnt really plan on him comming but i guess he has to tag along wherever i go. Pretty annoying if you ask me, some girls asked me the other day if i want to go out for lunch with them on wednesday afternons so i said okay and then told Nathans mom and shes like oh okay, bring Nathan with you. These girls aren't even hs friends so it would e kinda awkward. Shes just like on Nathan needs to learn how to talk to girls, but how can i teach him when i barely speak the language. Thankfully he said that he was busy studying on wednesday afternoons. So his mom was taking to me and saying that she thnks that he should goeverywhere with me because he doesnt leave the house much and stuff and i didnt have the guts to tell her that sometimes i want to go by myself so I just agreed. So anyways last night i go to meet Mike and then i ran into a bunch of my friends from school and they are all like oh come with us we are going to a club. So im like hell yeah lets go, so we stopped by Mcdonalds and had some food. Small portions at French mcdonalds I may add. I met this girl named margo on the walk to the club. her english was super good but she had a hardcore british accent. So i kept talking to her nd it turns ou that she is completely frenchand has livedhere her whole life but learns english with a british accent. Pretty intense. So we got o this club and it was pretty high end. Your supposed to be 18 to go in but they dont even check for ID here so we just said we were 18. Upstairs was a sitting area and bar and stuff with live band and downstairs was a dance floor and couches and it was pretty cool. A bunch of the people that work there kept trying to talk to me but i didnt know what they were saying so i just nodded and walked away. when we were going to leave someone stopped us and started talkng french to me but i didnt understand and so Nathan talked to her and he told me that she said that im not allowed to wear the type of shoes i was wearing for some reason and that she had told me 3 times already. I just laughed. i guess that place was too high class for me, its where all the rich people go. So we left and walked back to the center of the town and called Nathans mom. By this time it was like 2 in the morning and im like wont your mom be mad and hes like no because i never go out and she wants me to go out like this. So she picked us up and we went home. Today i just woke up and had lunch and thats about all.

shopping!
holla,
Had quite an exciting day yesterday. thought id come on and et everyone know about it. School was all cool until just before lunch when i had a class in english with Mr. Fillet. Now he has decided that we have too much open hours and that for some of the hours we have to be in the library doing any work that we have to finish. So he decided that i have to be in the library for 2 hours on tuesdays, but yesterday was tuesday and i had planned to go shopping in the afternoon. So i pleaded my case that it was short notic an that i will go to the library next tuesday and stuff. He just laughed at me and told me im just like a girl and that he can tell that i am the social one of the group and not the bigtime homework type. He pretty much told Brendan that he was a geek by saying that he can tell he is the type that never wants to leave school at the end of the day and stuff. I laughed. Anyways he finally said that i was right and i could go shopping so i was pretty pumped.
So me and Sam went shopping, found this store that was pretty cheap and had some nice clothes so we decided to go there. I bought like 2 shirts, 2 sweaterish things, 2 scarves, a french coat, and a pir of underwear. I look like a true european now, i got so many compliments at school today too. The only thing that doesnt really go with the outfit is the shoes. i need to get some true french shoes but they are really expensive so i didnt. once i finished buying clothes we walked around and i bought a new video game because im getting sick of fifa 06. Got Tiger Woods 09...All you golf fans out there be jealous. Once spring rolls around im going to be ahead of you in the mind because i can practice strategy on the game. I dare anyone to challenge me, im a champ. Might just have to make the step up to the PGA because im that good. So i really enjoyed the shopping expierace, im gunna be looking european on the first day of school back in Canada. Be prepared.
Got back to the school and sorta just hungout in the library for a bit. Then went down to the lobby and saw all my classmates. They were all like where were you in english man? and i was like when was english? So it turns out that there was some english class i was supposed to go to but i didnt know because it wasnt highlited on my schedule. Honest mistake right? Well the teacher was not a happy camper and was looking for me and she went and got Nathan out of his class and asked him where i was and gave him a big lecure on how im his responsibility and hehas to know where i am at all times. But thats crap, I just do my own thing and leave Nathan alone at school because i know he gets really involved in the work. So just after everyone was asking me where i was, Mr. Fillet came and grabbed me and gave me the why werent you at this class speach, but once i told him he was all cool with it and stuff. When we got home Nathan told his mom and she was so mad at the english teacher. Shes like oh im going to go have a chat with her. I was like no no dont because she is my teacher and i hate when parents talk to your teachers. Like i just get really embarassed when your parent comes to the school and is looking foryou and everyone tells you like oh logan your moms looking for you. Sorry mom, had to be said.
Today I had that english teacher again but she didnt say anything, i just told her i was shopping. I think shes intimidated by me because im not afraid to say what i want. Like most French kids in the class dont say a word and even if they areasked a question they hesitate to answer. Oh and she calls us anglosaxins, and it bugs the heck out of me. So i corrected her today and i think that got on her nerve a bit. She made us talk the whole class this time. The class is in groups and each group wrote down a topic and then the Canadians had to talk about each topic, it took the whole darn class and we still had one topic left. But i went all intense and entertained the class. Brendan decided that he wanted to talk about Obama. So he got up and started talking about the darn political spectrum and what parties Canada has and he related everything to Canada and im like what does that have to do with Obama, all they want to know is if we like him or dont. Well im done for now.

Weekend and more...
hello,
Computer has been broken for the last couple days so i have been trying to manage without it. Last friday i got to sleep in because my first class was at 1:45. I was having a nice pleasent sleep but i woke up to constant honking and the phone rining so i looked outside and Helene was out there. I started to think like oh crap i must be late because i dont have a clock in my room so i started running around and put clothes on and ran downstairs. I got own there and she says "im locked out." I was like oh so i got dressed and everything for this. Anyways i went to school and it was pretty easy and Nathan didnt have a last class so we went home early. There was supposed to be a big fight after school between our school and another one but we couldnt stick around for it. Havent heard what went down yet but i sure it was intense. When i got home i finished my english work and just plyed video games for a while. Ive been really into Fifa 06 on Nathans PS2, its the onlysports game he has and ive been playing it all the time. so that was my lame friday night
Saturday was not much better. slept in again. For some reason ive just been sleeping in and i dont even realize what time it is. I gues my personal clock hasnt reset yet. just sataround most of saturday until dinner then i asked if i could go to the mall and look around. Went to the mall but it want really what id hoped for because Nathans mom brought Louis and he is like 5 and so when we were asking somone about a voltage converter he ran away and we spent the majority of the mall time looking for him. Turns out that they didnt have a converter or just didnt understand what i was saying, couldnt really tell. So i didnt buy anything. Me and Sam are going shopping on tuesday anyways because we only have like 2 classes. I need to get a scarf and a french coat. Lots of guys here wear scarves and these jackets that are black and button up in the front. I decided that i dont want to stand out anymore in my winter coat. Me and Sam are almost the only dudes that wear winter jackets. Time for a new look. Might have to get some of those pointed toe shoes tha they all wear. That might be too french though because if i wore those in Canada it would not go over well.
Pretty much the same story for the rest of the weekend. Went skating on sunday though. Had a good time, i thought that there wouldnt be many people there but the rink was packed. Apparently french peple like skating. Watched the movie Munich yesterday, quite a good show. I would recomend it.
Woke up this morning at 6:45 for school! holly crap thats early. Had 3 classes in a row in the morning, this is my busy day of the week. Had english for the first time today and the teacher is a...Im not sure what she is but its something not very nice. she made us stand up in front of the class ad introduce ourselves, then started asking us questions and so we stood there for like 25 min. It was completely embarassing. I always seemed to have the answers to her questions that she didnt want. She asked how many hours of french we do per week so i didnt lie and said zero. She was not pleased. Shes like well why would you come here then. Obviously i didnt come here because my french is perfect and i know lots of french you idiot. I come to learn it and to see France. There is this one really super geeky Canadian guy and he just makes me so mad. i dont even want to be seen with him because he is just socially awkwad, and maybe a little bit messed up. That was really off topic but anywys back to the english teacher. I just me her today and shes trying to be too involved in my life and saying that she will help us and stuff and its just like hey lady, i know this is the first day ive had your class but ive been in france almost 2 weeks nowso i think i can figure it out. Oh and she has huge glasses, like bubbles from trailer park boys just notas thick. Ill take a picture of her. That was only the first class, next was french and it was all good except the teacher talked to me, and of corse i had no idea. Everyone looked at me and i go the point but it was pretty weird. When he was talking to me i was actually in the middle of coloring in all the O's in the handout he gave us. I didnt color anymore O's after that. In history and geography class i learned that part of Russia and part of Turkey is in Europe. I always though that Russia was in Asia and Turkey was in Europe, but apparntly i was wrong. Had some class called ECJS in the afternoon, we have to makea powerpoint about laws or something. not too exciting. Well thats all im going to write because that took me a hell of a long time.

School
hello,
Been much better the past few days. Went out to what i was told was dinner with friends a couple nights ago but it was really dinner at a kareoke bar. All the french guys were so eager to sing and i have no clue why, because they ere not very good at all. Some were better than others but most were not very good. It made it even worse that they were singing french songs, some advice from me...dont listen to french music! Dont know how the french people do it but we didnt get home until like 1230 and it was a tuesday night so they had to be at school at 8 the next morning. Whatever, i got to sleep in.
Slept in late the next day then headed into town because i had to go to a meeting with one of the teachers at the school. It wast really like a meeting but more of an orrientation, we walked around downtown and the school and got our timetables. The timetables were weird becausethey were the same as our french students but the teacher just said to highight the classes that we have to take.By the way the teacher was pretty cool, his name is M. Fillet, pronounced fee-yay. So we all thought that we woul have to go to school all the way till 6 and it was going to be so hard, but guess again. We highlighted the mandatory ones and i only ended up with 13 every week. they are all 55 minutes long. To give you a sence of how little i do, the french kids have 9 classes per day, the most i ever have is 4. Peice of cake for me.
Next was the first day of school.woke up at 645 and left the house at 720. I didnt have a class in the first block so i went and worked on some canadian work for an hour. My first class was history/geography with M. Fillet. Didnt understand a word, they speak so unbelievably fast that it is practically impossible to understand. So i sat there the whole class wondering what in the world this man was talking about untill the bell rang. Next class was french, where they are doing a novel study-oh joy! the tacher mumbles an barely anyone can understand but other than that it was good, still didnt know a single word. After french i was done for the day and i went with a few other people for lunch at this place and got a sandwich called a kebab. It was sogood, its like lettuce, tomato, mayo, ketchup, and shredded pork, and they shred the pork off the bone right in front of you. After that, the 3 canadians that were there went into downtown and we walked around forever and got lost, but then we found our way back. Then we sat around until school was don and we ent back. Most of the people in the school are super cool and always fill me in on whats happening in the french conversations. Enjoying my time here.

After that, the 3 canadians that were there went into downtown and we walked around forever and got lost, but then we found our way back. Then we sat around until school was don and we ent back. Most of the people in the school are super cool and always fill me in on whats happening in the french conversations. Enjoying my time here.

The Dark Days
bonjour,
still having a good time but its not as exciting as before. Havent done much lately, just staying up late and sleeping in. the last couple as have been the same routine. Get up, get ready, go fr lunch at Nathans grandmas, come home for a couple hours and rest, then go out in the evening. Lunch is an exciting time of day, new food all the time. im starting to really enjoy the french food now, except for the prune pie i had today. Not my favorite. Yesterday at dinner time i was really hungry because they eat dinner at like 9 and i didnt know that so i didnt bother getting any snacks. im starting t drink tea allthe tme, no idea why but all of a sudden it is just appeling to my sences. Went to the stoe with Nathans mom last night, shes super health concious. Only buys organic stuff. This is new for me and im kinda hesitating on trying all this stuff but eventually i do, some stuff is good, others not so good.
Had a day the other day where i was just thinking about holly crap im going to be here for almost 3 months. I got myself all worked up and thouht about how much I will miss everyone and stuff. I think im over that now though, i hope it was just a one day thing. Tonight we are going out for dinner with Nathans classmates so hopefully that wll hel with the boring factor. Living in this village kinda sucks because he has no friends here. Im sure it will be better once school starts. To help pass the time i watch movies and play french video games.
Not the best weather here, its been rainin for the past 2 days and its been quite cold. I like staying inside by the heaters. This computer is right beside a heater and if I sit too long then i start to get really warm so i have to take short breaks. I guess i could just turn it down but i know i will forget to turn it back up and soon enough the whole house will be cold. None of my plug in stuff works ecause the voltag is too highhere so i cant charge anything, kind of a bummer but ill find a way around it.

Paris
hey everyone,
i had a great time in paris these last couple days. the plane ride was very long and tiring. didnt sleep much at all on the plane. When we got to paris we quickly got on a bus and headed off on our tour. first stop was montmartre to a big church that was pretty cool. Next we had lunch at flunch. worst chicken qnd fries ive ever had i think. id way rather go for some french food. people here drive like idiots they weave in and out of cars and stuff,its like nothing ive ever seen. After lunch was the visit of notre dame cathedral. Its unreal! absolutely enormous! Next stop was the louvre. lets just say, not my thing. Yeah yeah it was okay just not something that interests me. Everyone was tired after that so we went to the hotel.
The next morning we had croissants for breaky and headed out to see more of paris. Started at the arc du triumph. It was super cool. didnt look that big in the books. While we were there we strolled down the champs elysees and looked at all the stores. I bought a new pretty cool sweater. Went into the louis vuitton stor and holly crap was it expensive. 490 euros for almost the same sweater that i just bought for 20. I felt out of place just being in there. next was luch where - yep you guessed it, we ate at flunch.same crappy food. Nothing new there. After lunch was a boat trip on the Seine river. not to exciting because they showed us everything we had already seen before and because it was snowing and cold. Went to the eiffel tower after that and it was sweet. Again it was much bigger than i thought.After that we just went back to the hotel and had dinner which i didnt eat much of because it was all gross fish.
The buildings in Paris are all very old. No houses like in Canada, everyone lives in appartments which i found really weird. The cars are really funny looking and the police sirens are super cool! People are very nice and polite so far, everyone says they are rude but i havent noticed that yet. The hotel we stayed in sucked and was very small, i had to sleep on a cot with my jacket as my pillow. Oh and one more thing, euro keyboards suck. the letters are all in different spots and its taken me like an hour to write this far
Today i caught a train to Dijon. They go super fast and are pretty neat. Nathan and his mom picked me up there and i came to their house. it is very old and cramped in to a small space. They had lunch ready when i got here and it was super duper good. there is like 4 parts and i was so full after! The language barrier is hard. Nathan translated everything today. For some reason apparently we have to wear slippers in the house so they gave me some and said to wear them. Took a tur of surrounding villages tonight and they are pretty neat. For some reason i dont go to school till thursday but i didnt understand why nathan goes and i dont. There is 3 other Canadians in my school so im kinda excited. My dam ipod dock just got wrecked because there is higher electricity here and it burnt the inside of my wires so im pissed. That was kinda random but im done now.
